What do you think when you hear people say they are ‘holding someone accountable? Most believe they are about to get hauled over the coals.

That’s because leadership teams only talk about individual accountability when things go wrong, and blame is being reverse engineered. In reality, accountability is something that can bind a business together and drive it forward.

I help my clients create an Accountability Chart for the whole company, which defines everyone’s role and sets out exactly what’s expected from everyone in no uncertain terms.

Sure, things will still go wrong (the coals will still burn), but the Accountability Chart highlights any breakdowns in communication, so the company as a whole can learn from mistakes.

Are people problems holding back your business? Reading my article on the five big frustrations business owners face will probably help (Please see comment below for the link).
